MOSCOW - Unidentified people early on Saturday destroyed an impromptu memorial at the place where opposition leader Boris Nemtsov was killed in central Moscow by removing all flowers, pictures, and candles, the Echo of Moscow radio station reports.

Later in the day, activists started bringing new flowers and pictures to restore the memorial.

Echo of Moscow Editor-in-Chief Alexei Venediktov said on Instagram on March 28 morning: “Flowers, pictures, and Russian flags are being brought to the Nemtsov killing site” and posted a photo.

This has been the second incident of the kind over the past several days.

It was reported on March 24 that unidentified people ruined the impromptu memorial at the scene of Nemtsov’s murder, leaving a note and posting an online photo depicting the vandalized memorial, which was later restored by activists.

Nemtsov was killed on Bolshoy Moskvoretsky Bridge in central Moscow late on Feb. 27.
