MOSCOW - The U.S. and European sanctions against Russia should be assessed differently, in the view of Russian Economic Development Minister Alexei Ulyukayev.

“Because the European and the American sanctions are different things. Yes, I believe the adoption of the U.S. federal act in support of Ukraine and imposing sanctions on us is a problem for decades. But it’s a question how material this is going to be for us. The volume of our relations with the U.S. is not very large,” Ulyukayev said in an interview published in Komsomolskaya Pravda.

“As for the European sanctions, in my view, they might have a different fate,” he said.

“That the winter in our relations with the West is going to be long absolutely doesn’t mean that we have to go out to the cold naked,” Ulyukayev said.
