You're reading: Water supplies fully restored in flood-stricken Krymsk

Water supplies disrupted by the flood have been fully restored in all parts of Krymsk, Krasnodar territory.

“As at 9 a.m. Moscow time power supplies of 5,900 households were restored, 25 transformer substations repaired, water supplies restored and the storm water drainage cleared 100%,” Interfax was told at the southern regional center of the Emergency Situations’ Ministry.

A spokesman for the center said that 50 crisis centers were set up in the town offering meals and distributing water (a total of over 100,000 meals and over 800 liters of water). Eight outlets of distributing humanitarian assistance are functioning.

“A total of 58,847 tones of garbage have been removed from streets and homesteads, debris totaling 3,890 cubic meters cleared. Water has been pumped from 5,863 private homes and 255 kilometers of roads cleared,” the spokesman said.

He said eight mobile showers have been set up in Krymsk. The Federal Migration Service has issued about 3,000 passports to people affected by the disaster. Relief in the amount of 10,000 rubles per person has been distributed among 22,932 people. Psychologists from the Emergency Situations’ Ministry are rendering emergency psychological support.

A hotline has been organized. Over 33 tonnes of humanitarian aid has been delivered – drinking water, food, bed linen, children’s clothes and others necessiteis – from the republics of Adygeya, Kalmykia and Ingushetia, from Moscow, Astrakhan and other regions. In addition, 618 tonnes of aid are on their way.

Since July 7 ministry aircraft have flows 48 rescue, monitoring and delivery missions.

A total of 11,836 people and 2,169 units of equipment were involved in the flood mitigation effort, 4,145 and 586 of them respectively supplied by the Emergency Situations’ Ministry.
