You're reading: Anatoliy Konkov elected new president of Football Federation of Ukraine

Former famous Shakhtar Donetsk and Dynamo Kyiv player and coach Anatoliy Konkov has been elected president of the Football Federation of Ukraine (FFU) for four years. 

His candidacy was supported by 132 out of the 133 delegates at the 14th FFU congress in Kyiv on Sunday, September 2. One delegate abstained.

Konkov was the only candidate for the post of head of the national football association. He was nominated to the post by 30 out of the 49 collective members of the FFU.

As reported, on May 30, FFU President Hryhoriy Surkis said that he would not run for president of the national association at the next election. Surkis has headed the FFU since August 2000. He has been a member of the UEFA executive committee since 2004, and is chairman of the UEFA National Team Competitions Committee.
