Assistant Director of the UK Football Policing Unit Anthony Conniford has said he thinks that Ukraine did score a goal against England in their last Euro 2012 group match, and he hopes that this situation will not influence the current good relations between the supporters of the two countries.

“I have to say that it really was a goal. But unfortunately, I’m not a
referee and cannot change anything,” he said at a press conference in
Kyiv on Thursday.

Conniford added that British fans were communicating with Ukrainian
fans very well and that there were no conflicts between them.

“I see that they’re interacting well and enjoying the atmosphere. I
hope that this will continue and that this goal [issue] won’t affect the
situation,” he said.
