Bubka to carry Olympic torch for ninth time

The president of the National Olympic Committee of Ukraine, the member of the International Olympic Committee, Serhiy Bubka, on July 23 will participate in the Olympic torch relay in London.
"It's a familiar mission for him as starting from the Sydney 2000 Summer Olympic Games the chief Olympian of the country has been for the ninth time charged to run in the streets of the host country with a lighted torch in his hand," the press service of the National Olympic Committee of Ukraine said on Saturday.
