LVIV, Ukraine (AP) — Lukas Podolski scored for Germany and Michael Krohn-Dehli struck back for Denmark to make it 1-1 at halftime in their final Group B match at the European Championship on Sunday.

The result put Germany on course to reach the quarterfinals. Denmark had to win to be sure of advancing.

Podolski, playing his 100th international for Germany, scored in the 19th minute. Mario Gomez set him up with a deft backheel touch following Thomas Mueller’s low cross from the right flank.

Krohn-Dehli headed in the equalizer five minutes later. A corner found Nicklas Bendtner who headed the ball into the area where Krohn-Dehli nodded home.
