Ukraine organized the Euro 2012 European Football Championship at a higher level compared to the 30th Olympic Games that are currently taking place in London, Vice-President of the Group of the Progressive Alliance of Socialists and Democrats in the European Parliament Libor Roucek has said at a meeting with Ukrainian Prime Minister Mykola Azarov.

“I would like to thank you as head of the Ukrainian government and to
thank all Ukrainian people for managing to stage Euro 2012 at a decent
level. There was a lot of skepticism in the German and British press
regarding Ukraine’s ability to organize such an event. Ukraine organized
this tournament perfectly, and compared with the Olympic Games that are
currently taking place in London, it is obvious that the Ukrainians
organized the championship much better,” the media liaisons office of
the Ukrainian government’s secretariat quoted him as saying in Kyiv on
Tuesday.

Azarov, in turn, thanked the MEP for praising Ukraine’s efforts on the organization of the championship.
