MORGANTOWN, W.Va. — A 6-foot-10 forward from the Ukraine is headed to West Virginia to play for coach Bob Huggins.

The Mountaineers coach says Volodymyr Gerun has signed a grant-in-aid to attend West Virginia University in 2012-13. The sophomore will have three years of eligibility remaining with the Mountaineers.

Gerun led the Ukraine in scoring with 18.2 points and rebounding with 11 a game during the 2011 under-18 European Championships. He was the MVP for the 2010 under-16 games.
