You're reading: French, British policemen help to control foreign fans in Donetsk

Sixteen British and seven French policemen will assist Donetsk law enforcers during the Euro 2012 European Football Championship. Mainly, these are spotters, policemen that regularly work with football fans and know very well what to expect from them.

Their main task is preventive measures.

British policemen do not expect problems with their compatriots. According to inspector Diana Murphy, all necessary measures have been taken in Britain. In particular, aggressive fans were banned from leaving the country. Thus, more than 1,000 people will not be able to attend the Euro 2012 matches.

French police said they were satisfied with cooperation with the Ukrainian police and highly evaluated their readiness and professionalism.

Russian policemen will also assist to Ukrainian law enforcers during Euro 2012. This experience is useful to them especially before the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi.
