LEGIONOWO, Greece — Greece captain Giorgos Karagounis is set to equal his country's appearance record of 120 matches in Saturday's must-win group game against Russia at the European Championship.

Defensive midfielder Theo Zagorakis set the record in 2007.

Karagounis is one of three remaining players in the Greece squad from the winning team at Euro 2004.

The
35-year-old midfielder and his teammates have to beat leader Russia in
their final Group A game to advance in the tournament, after losing 2-1
to the Czech Republic and drawing 1-1 with co-host Poland.

Coach Fernando Santos is missing first-choice goalkeeper Costas Chalkias and central defender Avraam Papadopoulos.
