You're reading: Klitschko: I’ll do all I can for the Ukrainian flag to be victoriously hoisted in Moscow

Well-known Ukrainian boxer and UDAR Party leader Vitali Klitschko has said he hopes for the support of his compatriots during his fight against German boxer Manuel Charr, which will be held in Moscow on September 8.

“A lot of Ukrainians are gathering for the fight in Moscow, and I’m
grateful to them for that. I’ll do all I can for the Ukrainian flag to
be victoriously hoisted in Moscow. And the support of Ukrainians is very
important to me,” he said in an exclusive interview with
Interfax-Ukraine.

“I’m grateful to millions of fans around the world, and I have seen
large stadiums in Germany, the United States and other countries.
Wladimir and I have a lot of fans in Russia,” he said.

At the same time, Klitschko again announced his intention to end his career and deal with politics.

“I’m sure the UDAR Party will be represented in parliament. As for
sports, my career is coming to an end. I’ll let you know when that
happens at a separate news conference,” he said.
