Regions Party MP Serhiy Kuzmenko has become the new owner of FC Oleksandriya from Kirovohrad region, the club's manager, Andriy Kuptsov, has told the club's press service. 

The club’s playing and coaching staff and the new owner met on January 12.

“The club’s honorary president set ambitious goals: to practice high standards of football, have a conscientious attitude to the training process, show modern dynamic attacking football and achieve positive results in every match,” reads the statement.

The team’s training camp will be held according to schedule. According to the preliminary plan, the club will play friendly matches on January 30, February 2 and February 5, 2013.

It was reported late in December 2012 that the club’s former president, Mykola Lavrenko, planned to give the club to another investor.

FC Oleksandriya was founded in 1948. The club has played under its present name since 2004. In the 2011-2012 season, the team played in the Ukrainian Premier League. In the current season, Oleksandriya is third in the table after 21 matches played in the First League.

The 36-year-old Kuzmenko was elected an MP of the seventh convocation in constituency No. 103 in Kirovohrad region.
