You're reading: Shovkovsky: Confidence critical

Veteran Ukraine goalkeeper Oleksandr Shovkovsky said this week that Ukraine has to concentrate on its own game if it hopes to progress from a tough group at Euro 2012, which includes powerhouses England and France.

“We need to go out on the football pitch and play. We have to be confident in our game.

We will have to demonstrate all our best qualities and not allow out opponent to do the same.

It’s not important to me who we are playing. For me, the main thing is to come to the matches in peak form.

The main component of success is to find in yourself and demonstrate as much as possible of what you gained during training,” Shovkovsky said.
