Lviv Karpaty forward Maryan Shved will be joining his childhood idol, Yevhen Konoplyanka, at Spain’s Sevilla, the soccer club said in an online statement Aug. 4

Signing a five-year contract, the 18-year-old will play for Sevilla Atletico
Club in a lower league.

Konoplyanka, the star left winger from Dnipro Dnipropetrovsk, joined Spain’s
Red and Whites a month
earlier.
Vasyl
Shved, the father of Maryan Shved, told Ukrainian Football Channel that he took
a photo of his then-13-year- old son with Konoplyanka during one of the
Ukrainian national team’s visits to Lviv.

“And
now they will be together, members of the same soccer club. I know that Yevhen(Konoplyanka)
was very happy that there will be another Ukrainian in Sevilla,” he said.

Konoplyanka has already congratulated his fan on his Twitter feed. “Bienvenido
(Welcome) Maryan!” he wrote.

Shved
has passed a medical examination administered in Spain and set off for Lviv to
pack his bags before returning to Seville. Shved’s father thinks that the
Spanish club noticed his son Maryan thanks to his creativity on the field.

“They
ensured of his skill of deciding the fate of the game by himself. Konoplyanka
does the same, by the way,” said Vasyl Shved.

Shved made his debut in the
Ukrainian Premier League late last season in the beginning of 2015, and before
that he led the junior team of Karpaty.
