You're reading: Swedish fans march to Olympiysky stadium

Several thousands of Swedish fans have marched from Lesia Ukrainka Square to the Olympiysky National Sports Complex in Kyiv.

According to an Interfax-Ukraine reporter, supporters of the national team of Sweden started gathering near the building of the Central Election Commission on Lesia Ukrainka Square at around 1400. They filled the cafes near the square.

The fans wore T-shirts of their team and other symbols, including hats, scarves.

At around 1900 the Swedish fans formed a column and headed for the Olympiysky stadium where the match between Ukraine and Sweden will take place tonight.

While marching, the fans chanted slogans and the name of their team’s forward Zlatan Ibrahimovic, sang songs.

Residents of the nearby blocks of flats welcomed the foreign guests from the balconies.
