A legendary Ukrainian midfielder who plays for Russia’s Zenit soccer club in Saint Petersburg has called for Ukraine to unite for the sake of maintaining peace and said brotherly nations shouldn’t fight each other. 

Anatoliy Tymoshchuk said on his Facebook page
that Ukrainians should “mutually support” each other.

“Be wise and don’t give in to provocations,
unite for the sake of brotherhood, unity and love for Ukraine,” said Ukraine’s
most capped soccer player. “Russians, Ukrainians and other Slavs are historic
brotherly nations. A brother cannot attack another brother; this is a curse and
a woe. There is a force more powerful than bearing arms and that is love.”
