Weightlifter Trokhtiy brings third Olympic gold to Ukraine

Weightlifter Oleksiy Trokhtiy has won the third Olympic gold for Ukraine in the men's 105kg weightlifting at the 2012 Summer Olympics in London.

In the last round of the final on Monday, he was able to lift 227 kg and with a total of 412 points become an Olympic champion. Silver went to Iran's Navab Nasirshelal (411 points) and bronze to Poland's Bartlomiej Wojciech Bonk (410 points).

Another Ukrainian Serhiy Tagirov was 10th.

With three gold and six bronze medals Ukraine rose to 17th place in unofficial medal count.
