A leader of the pro-Russian rebels in Ukraine has told the BBC he is in regular contact with members of the Russian security services. He denied that he was a member of a Russian intelligence agency, however, he admitted to having contact with other members of the secret services in Russia - as, he said, would anyone "who has dealings with the elite of society".
