You're reading: Ceske Noviny: Klaus cancels his trip to Ukraine over jailed Tymoshenko-press

Prague - Czech President Vaclav Klaus has cancelled his attendance at the summit of the Central European countries´ presidents to be held in Ukraine in mid-May over his objections to the imprisonment of former Ukrainian PM Yulia Tymoshenko, the daily Lidove noviny writes today.

Klaus´s spokesman Radim Ochvat has confirmed the information to the paper. Along with Klaus, the German, Austrian and Slovenian presidents, Joachim Gauck, Heinz Fischer and Danilo Tuerk, respectively, will not attend the summit on the Crimea in Ukraine in reaction to repressions against Tymoshenko.
