MOSCOW - The Republic of Crimea has returned its network of gas pipelines that had been transferred to Krymgaz in the post-Soviet period, to state ownership, the head of the Crimean government, Sergei Aksionov, said.

“This concerns gas networks that were gratuitously given to the private joint-stock company Krymgaz. These networks have been returned to state ownership,” he said at a meeting of the Crimean government in Simferopol on Aug. 19.

Crimea’s Council of Ministers created the Crimean state unitary enterprise Krymgazset on Tuesday. The enterprise will manage the returned gas pipelines.
