While Ukraine obsesses about finding the ‘New Shevchenko’ their latest bright hope has been compared to the man Roy Hodgson most wishes he could have at his dispoal on Tuesday.

'You see, we have Rooney and you don't!' smiled Ruslan Rotan in response to some lofty praise about his Dnipro Dnepropetrovsk team-mate Roman Zozulya.

Jozsef Szabo, the man who nurtured Andriy Shevchenko at Dynamo Kiev and later with the national team, sees something special in one of the few new faces Ukraine will bring to Wembley.
