On home ground and hosting the Yalta Yes Forum the president of Ukraine, Viktor Yanukovych looked forward to sealing a strategic deal with the European Union, believing the forthcoming parliamentary elections would show his country’s commitment to democracy.

The EU delegation said, “the issue of selective justice” had to be settled before relations could move to a new level.
