Roman Olearchyk writes: “It is little surprise that Ukraine has attracted only a quarter of the more than $200 billion of foreign investment that has poured into neighbouring Poland. The former Soviet republic’s investment environment can be intimidating. Domestic and foreign businesses are often choked by bureaucracy and the past two years have seen a resurgence of mafia-style “raider” attacks.”

continues: “Yet on the ground, investors’ experience in this vast and promising
economy of 45 million consumers on the EU’s eastern border is not all doom and gloom.”
