The US government said farmers exporting via the Black Sea will return to global wheat markets this year after the most severe drought in a century in a grain supply assessment that some analysts called overly optimistic. In its first market forecast for the 2011 northern hemisphere harvest, the US Department of Agriculture projected wheat exports from Russia, Kazakhstan and Ukraine would more than double to 26m tonnes in the year beginning in July.
