Although most of the news about Russian demography over the past few years has been extremely positive, the country clearly still has some very serious issues. One of the most pressing is potential shrinkage in the labor force. Like virtually every other country in Europe and North America, Russia faces a future in which a smaller number of workers will have to provide for a larger number of retirees.
