The Russian military in Sevastopol is following the agreements that were signed earlier, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said.

“As to the Russian military who are in the Russian Black Sea Fleet in Sevastopol, they always strictly follow the agreements on the basis of which the Russian fleet is present on this territory and the positions and requests made by the legitimate administration of Ukraine, and in this case also the legitimate administration of the Republic of Crimea,” Lavrov told a press conference in Tunis following a meeting with his Tunisian counterpart Mongi Hamdi.

“Order is ensured mainly by self-defense units, who have put up patrols and are inspecting transport entering the territory of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea. A lot of weapons, ammunition, and explosives have been seized, and therefore I think these measures are right and they should prevent the lawlessness that happened in Kyiv and in other cities in Western Ukraine from occurring again,” Lavrov said.
