You're reading: LifeNews: Ukrainian claims to plan terroristic attack in Moscow

Moscow city police arrested Ukrainian citizen Oleksandr Mikhkailus on Jan. 12, according to Russian news outlet LifeNews.

LifeNews reports that the man is suspected of preparing a terrorist attack in the center of Moscow.

The suspicion is based on Mikhailus’s own confession.

Kharkiv citizen Mikhailus, 34, was found unconscious near one of the metro stations in Moscow and was transferred to the hospital. Once he came back to consciousness, the man told the doctors about his plans to explode the building of Ukrainian Culture Center on Arbat Street in Moscow.

Mikhailus claimed to be the member of nationalists group and said he was an opposition supporter. According to LifeNews, he refused to commit terroristic attack some hours before the planned blast on Jan. 12.

The police evacuated the attendees of Ukrainian Culture Center on 9 Arbat St. and found no explosives there. Moscow city police will investigate the case.
