Civic groups associating Ukrainians in the Czech Republic called for a closer tie between Ukraine and Europe at a Prague party marking the 20th anniversary of Ukraine's independence yesterday. Dozens of people attended the celebration, wearing Ukrainian folk costumes and waving yellow-and-blue flags. "We want to show that Ukrainians are a European nation with a thousand-year culture and traditions. We wish that the Czechs like us and view us as a part of their family," Bohdan Danylyshyn, former Ukrainian economy minister, told CTK on behalf of the organisers. Read the story here.
