Colombo - The Tourism Promotion Office of Sri Lanka launched a three weeks campaign in Russia and Ukraine to encourage the visit of tourists from these promising markets.
The entity said in a statement here that on Sunday began the Tourism Road Mega Show in the Russian cities of St. Petersburg and Moscow, and in Kiev, the Ukrainian capital.
Major exhibition spaces of these countries showed the charming of the Indian Ocean Island through photo exhibitions and traditional products, videos, cultural performances, workshops and conferences.
Tour operators, travel agencies, airlines and other Sri Lankan tourism stakeholders will participate also in three important international fairs to promote the leisure industry that these days will have its seat in those cities.
