The pro-presidential Party of Regions supports the call of the U.S. Senate on the political parties of Ukraine to refrain from hate speeches or anti-Semitic actions, MP Hanna Herman of the Party of Regions has said.

“These words of the resolution, which I am holding in my hands, strike a chord with the Ukrainian government, whose policy has always been based on a strong condemnation of anti-Semitism or any ideology of hate,” Herman’s press service quoted her as saying on Wednesday.

“That is why we fully support the message of the resolution of the U.S. Senate to those political parties in Ukraine, who use ideology of hate, and we believe these words of the resolution are perfectly fair, as well as those clauses that speak of the right of the Ukrainian people to choose their path into the future. We sincerely share the calls on the opposition and civil society not to use violence and to prevent it, to refrain from using force and to begin a dialogue for national reconciliation, which are contained in the resolution of the Senate. Same as a call on the authorities to refrain from using force against demonstrators,” Herman said.

“We are convinced that a dialogue between the two large social groups, who so far have different visions of the Ukrainian prospects, is possible and it will certainly lead to the unification of the people and the strengthening of Ukraine as an independent state, where people strive to live according to European standards and where the authorities do their best to create prerequisites for attaining such standards in Ukraine,” the lawmaker summed up.
