The Ukrainian parliament passed bills on Thursday concerning corruption among its members, anti-money laundering regulations and efforts to combat terrorism finance.

The first bill, which concerns the incomes and spending of elected officials, goes into effect July 1 and mandates that all expenditures be recorded as of Jan. 1, 2012. It was proposed by President Viktor Yanukovych, who told lawmakers that corruption poses an “immediate threat to constitutional rights and freedoms of citizens.” Read the full blog here.
