You're reading: Ukraine introduces visa free regime for Macedonian citizens

Ukraine has introduced a new visa free regime for Macedonian citizens, for a stay in Ukraine of less than 90 days. The regime will run from March 16, 2015 until March 15, 2018.

President Petro Poroshenko signed decree No. 61/2014 “On the temporary introduction of a visa free regime for the citizens of the Republic of Macedonia,” the president’s website reported.

The decree was adopted “to develop and practically realize the principles of the neighborly partnership between Ukraine and the Republic of Macedonia, enhance bilateral contacts in all the areas of relations and confirm the intent to continue the cooperation in liberalization of the regime for citizens’ travelling both ways.”

The Cabinet of Ministers was ordered to take measures to realize the decree.

As reported, on March 15, 2013 Macedonia prolonged its visa free regime for Ukrainian citizens for five years. In addition, a visa-free regime for Macedonian citizens introduced by Ukraine was prolonged for two years.
