You're reading: Wall Street Journal: European stocks close lower on new Ukraine worries

 European stocks fell Friday as fresh signs of escalation to the conflict in Ukraine rattled investors' nerves.

The Stoxx Europe 600 fell sharply after a controversial Russian aid convoy passed into Ukrainian territory Friday morning, and closed the session down 0.2 percent. Kyiv said it viewed the movement of the convoy across the border as an act of aggression.
