Ukraine said on July 28 that heavy fighting erupted in a string of towns around where Malaysia Airlines Flight 17 went down, with the rebels reportedly losing control of part of the crash site as Kyiv seeks to cut off the insurgent stronghold of Donetsk from the rest of the separatists.
