The latest Health Ministry statistics indicate the epidemiological threshold for the flu has been exceeded in 20 of the nations 27 oblasts, including Kyiv.
As of Dec. 28, 652 people have died since the epidemic started in late October. There are presently 258 people in intensive care with dozens on respirators. More than 200,000 people have been hospitalized.
17 more deaths attributed to flu-like illness
The Health Ministry as of Dec. 28 had recorded over 3.5 million cases of flu-like illness and acute viral respiratory illness.
