The Dutch government has said that a further 46 victims of the Malaysian plane crash in Ukraine have been identified.

This brings the total number of victims of the disaster now identified to 173.

Twenty six citizens of the identified people are citizens of the Netherlands.

The ministry noted that at the request of the relevant countries’ embassies, the nationalities of the rest of the identified victims who were not from the Netherlands had not been disclosed.

As reported, the Malaysia Airlines’ Boeing 777, which was flying from Amsterdam (the Netherlands) to Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia), crashed in eastern Ukraine on July 17. All 298 people on board were killed. They included 192 Dutch citizens (one also had a= U.S. citizenship), 44 Malaysians, including the 15 crew members, 27 Australians, 12 Indonesians, ten Britons (one also had South African nationality), four Germans, four Belgians, three Filipinos, one Canadian and one New Zealander.
