You're reading: 20 tons of honey from Kherson not allowed into Crimea

Rosselkhoznadzor has not allowed the supply of 20 tonnes of honey from Kherson to the territory of Crimea and Sevastopol without documents proving its quality.

The Rosselkhoznadzor department for the Republic of Crimea and
Sevastopol reported that when implementing the veterinary inspections of
cargo arriving in sealed barrels at the Armiansk checkpoint, a
Rosselkhoznadzor inspector did not find any label indicating the shelf
life of the produce. The cargo also had no documents confirming its
safety and good quality.

In addition, senders did not care about the temperature conditions of
carriage and further storage of the dietary product, without specifying
the necessary conditions for this.

These reasons were the basis for preventing the dangerous goods from
going to Crimea. The vehicle with the questionable honey was returned to
Ukraine.
