You're reading: 75 Ukrainians, over 10 foreigners in Nepal want leave for Ukraine

The list of persons, who wish returning to Ukraine from Nepal, where a devastating earthquake took place on April 25, includes 74 Ukrainians and over ten foreigners, the Foreign Ministry of Ukraine reported.

“As of 11 a.m. on May 5, there have been 74 Ukrainian citizens and over ten foreigners in the list [of the persons] tend to come back to Ukraine,” reads the ministry’s statement posted on May 5.

According to the Foreign Ministry, the operation group of its Consulate Service Department working in Kathmandu informed that the Ukrainian citizen had leg broken due to the earthquake.

“The injured citizen was taken to a local hospital in Kathmandu from the mountaineering camp on Everest by a helicopter. After the necessary medical examination, time and means of his return to Ukraine will be decided,” the ministry’s press service reported.

As reported, the Il-76 aircraft of the Ukrainian Defense Ministry arrived in Delhi for further departure to Kathmandu to evacuate our citizens and has been passing the elimination of detected faults.

According to the latest official data, 7,040 people were killed as a result of an earthquake in Nepal on April 25. About 15,000 people got hurt.
