About 100 unidentified men wearing masks and helmets and armed with baseball bats assaulted a pro-European opposition demonstration near the regional administration headquarters in Odesa.
The demonstrators tried to hide behind a police cordon but the police
were unable to immediately push back the attackers, who were hitting
demonstrators right in front of the main door of the administration
building, an Interfax reporter said.
