Lviv - Nearly 400,000 people visited the fan zone in Lviv during Euro 2012, the Lviv-2012 media center has reported, citing the deputy director of the agency on Lviv's preparations for Euro 2012, Solomia Koronenko.

“The success of the fan zone in Lviv is undisputed, and UEFA has also noted that. Of course, we could not compete with Kyiv, but we could compete with other cities, and our fan zone actually beat [their] attendance records,” she said.

Koronenko said that the promotion received by the city as a result of Euro 2012 would increase the flow of tourists by 40%.

“The promotion that the city received we will give a hundredfold return. According to the experience of previous tournaments, the influx of tourists to host cities grew by 40%. Therefore, we expect these guests again,” she said.
