The situation around the building of the Ukrainian Defense Ministry has escalated, as fighters from the Aidar volunteer battalion continue their protest, accusing the ministry of plans to liquidate the battalion.
Aidar fighters have gathered outside a checkpoint of the ministry in Povitroflotsky Avenue in Kyiv. Traffic on the street has been blocked, with many trolleybuses and cars parked on the road in both directions.
The demonstrators blocked the gates near the checkpoint with a minibus and barricaded the checkpoint with car tires, an Interfax correspondent said.
Also protesting outside the ministry are people who referred to themselves as relatives of fighters of from the 25th battalion. They claim that fighters from this battalion are currently in a very difficult position, many of them are killed, few remain and need help.
