Ukraine expects the European Commission soon to make a decision on the transition to the second phase of the action plan on visa liberalization with the EU, Ukrainian's Acting Foreign Minister Andriy Deschytsia has said.

“We submitted on Tuesday these laws that were adopted by the Verkhovna Rada and that concerned the completion of the first phase of the visa-free dialogue. After they are analyzed by the European Commission, they must decide on when the transition to the second phase will occur,” he told reporters, while answering a question from Interfax-Ukraine.

He said that such an analysis by the European side of the work done by Ukraine would take some time.

“It will take some time, but we expect that this will happen in the next few weeks,” he said.

As reported, the Ukrainian parliament on May 13 adopted the remaining bills needed to complete the first phase of the action plan of the visa-free dialogue between Ukraine and the EU.
