The Antonov Serial Plant state-run enterprise (earlier Aviant Plant) plans to produce nine planes in 2011 compared to the four planes made in 2010, the company's director, Mykola Pidhrebelny, said in an interview with the Uriadovy Kurier newspaper published on Tuesday.

"The plant plans to make five An-148 planes, one An-158 and three An-32 planes in 2011," he said.

Pidhrebelny added that in 2009 the company did not produce any planes, and in 2010 four planes were made: two An-148 and two An-32 planes.

"We have enough orders now, and we could boost production. Frankly speaking, the obligatory tender procedures, which last for two or three months, and other red tape barriers hinder the process," the director said.

Antonov Serial Plant state-run enterprise designs aircraft. Since 2008, jointly with the Antonov state enterprise, 410th Civil Aviation Plant (all in Kyiv) and Kharkiv State Aircraft Manufacturing Company have been incorporated into the Antonov state aircraft manufacturing concern.

In 2009 the company boosted its net income by 86.5%, to Hr 2.284 billion, and its net profit rose by 61.7%, to Hr 319 million. In January-September 2010, its net income came to Hr 1.479 billion and its net profit was Hr 60 million.
