You're reading: Ashton: EU leaders may gather for another summit in July depending on Ukraine situation

European Union High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Catherine Ashton doesn't rule that the leaders of 28 EU member countries may gather for another summit before holidays in August to discuss the Ukrainian crisis and sanctions against Russia.

She said that the list of individuals and legal entities subject to the targeted sanctions was being drawn up at that moment and she had no information how many people and companies would be on that list.

“As you know this is done at the ambassadors’ level,” she said.

Any decision on a new meeting of the Council of the European Union will be taken with due regard to what more needs to be done, she added.
