About 3 million tourists had visited Crimea this year as of July 26, 2012, which is 5.5% up year-over-year, the press service of the Crimean Council of Ministers has reported.
According to Crimean Resorts and Tourism Minister Oleksandr Liyev,
this year the biggest growth in the tourist flow was registered in the
Sudak and Feodosiya Crimean resort towns, as well as in Chornomorsky and
Rozdolnensky regions, while Yalta, Alushta and Yevpatoria were the
leaders in 2011.
“Growth in the tourist flow in Crimea was registered in the spring
and winter periods. At the same time, the number of tourists in summer
is the same as in 2011. The structure of the tourist flow has also
changed: compared to 2011, the number of Russians coming by plane and
car to Crimea has increased,” the minister added.
According to the press service of the Crimean Council of Ministers,
the number of Russians who arrived by plane has grown by 12.5%, and the
number of people arriving by car totaled 15%.
