You're reading: Average deposit in Ukraine since start of 2014 down by 3.5 percent

The average size of deposits in Ukraine since the beginning of 2014 has decreased by 3.5 percent, to Hr 8,188, the Individuals' Deposit Guarantee Fund has said.

According to the fund, the amount of deposits in 165 banks that are members of the fund reached Hr 371.6 billion, including Hr 182.1 billion in the hryvnia.

“The deposits of 99.3 percent of depositors are fully guaranteed by the fund,” reads the report.

According to the fund, as of Oct. 22 its resources were Hr 11 billion, including government domestic loan bonds for Hr 5.9 billion. The fund expects the government to allocate the funding of Hr 10.1 billion.

Managing Director of the Guarantee Fund Kostiantyn Vorushylin said that the funds available are sufficient for all the current operations of the fund.

Deputy Managing Director Andriy Olenchyk said the fund has not decided on the issue of increasing the size of regulatory and special levies on banks.
