You're reading: AutoMaidan leader Bulatov thanks Lithuanian president for helping injured EuroMaidan activists

Vilnius – Lithuanian President Dalia Grybauskaite on Monday, Feb.10 met with the leader of Avtomaidan Ukrainian movement Dmytro Bulatov, who was kidnapped and tortured by unknown persons in Ukraine, and is now undergoing medical treatment in Lithuania. 

The meeting focused on the situation in Ukraine, the Avtomaidan initiative and the role of the European Union in settling the conflict in Ukraine, the Press Service of the President of Lithuania has reported.

Bulatov thanked the president for Lithuania’s support for injured Euromaidan participants and for the opportunity to undergo medical treatment in Lithuania.

“The Ukrainian people are fighting for the democratic future of their country. A peaceful solution to the political crisis should be found as soon as possible to ensure Ukraine’s political, economic and social stability. The European Union stands ready to help in every possible way the Ukrainian government and opposition to agree and resolve the current situation in the country,” the president said during the meeting at the President Palace.

Grybauskaite said Lithuania was ready to continue providing medical assistance and care to the injured Ukrainians.

As reported, Lithuania has already received four injured Euromaidan participants for medical treatment, and plans to render aid to a total of ten people. The country’s government allocated 150,000 lits for their treatment.
