You're reading: Azarov says government is getting ready to debate 2013 budget

The government is to consider a draft national budget for 2013 at a meeting in the near future, Ukrainian Premier Mykola Azarov has said.

“The government works according to a schedule, which foresees that
the draft national budget should be sent to the Verkhovna Rada by
September 15, so the government will consider the draft budget and pass
it to the parliament in the near few days,” he told journalists in
Brovary (Kyiv region) on Monday, Aug. 27.

At the same time, the premier did not specify the main macro indices
on which the draft national budget for the next year is based.

Earlier, Ukrainian Economic Development and Trade Minister Petro
Poroshenko said that the government will timely submit to the parliament
the draft national budget for 2013.

“I can’t see any problem with delays in the submission of the budget,” he said.

Poroshenko added that the Economic Development and Trade Ministry has
made and submitted for approval to the government a forecast on macro
indices for the next year. At the same time, Poroshenko refused to voice
the forecast and said that it will be published as soon as the
government approves it.

Earlier Azarov said that “the national budget for the next year is to be estimated by around Hr 500 billion.”
