Ukrainian Premier Mykola Azarov has said there should be a revision of vocational training areas in Ukraine with regard to the demands of the domestic economy, in particular, the real sector.

"We have to put the systems of vocational training and higher education in line with the demands of the domestic economy," he said while opening a meeting of the government on Wednesday.

Azarov charged the Economic Development and Trade Ministry, the Social Policy Ministry, the Education and Science, Youth and Sports Ministry and the National Academy of Sciences to carry out a deep analysis of prospects on the labor market and "propose a balance between the demographic situation, training of professionals, and economic development," as well as suggest a system of state incentives for fulfillment of the balance.

"We need to make a full list of specialties, which will be in demand with the economy growth. We have to get a complete and clear understanding of the situation on the labor market in the near five years," he said.

The premier also instructed the education ministry to draft a proposal on the reorientation of the education system to the training of experts for the real sector of the economy.

Azarov also said that vocational guidance should be resumed at schools.
